The map

Every pin is a sale. Color tells you which day. Tap a pin for the address and what they are selling.

Both days Saturday only Sunday only College Park Day, Saturday afternoon
Same Saturday, right next door

Make a day of it

College Park Day runs Saturday, October 3, noon to 6 PM at the College Park Aviation Museum, just northeast of the neighborhood and about two thirds of a mile from the middle of the sale.

So do both. Hit the yard sale in the morning while everything is still out, head over to the festival in the afternoon, then swing back Sunday for whatever is left. City pride and bargains, same weekend.

College Park Day is the City’s event, not ours. We are just glad it lands on the same Saturday.

If you are shopping

Come prepared

  • Bring small bills. Assume cash. Some sellers can take Venmo, but ask before you fall in love with the couch.
  • Bring your own bags and a box or two. Most sellers will not have them.
  • Bring a tape measure if you are looking at furniture.
  • Come back Sunday. Prices soften and some sellers would rather deal than repack.

Be a good neighbor

  • Park legally and never block a driveway. These are narrow residential streets with kids on them.
  • Do not arrive early. Sellers are still setting up before the posted start.
  • Ask before handling anything fragile, and ask before photographing someone's yard.
  • Take what you buy with you. Arrange pickup on the spot if it will not fit in the car.

Getting around

  • It is walkable. About half a mile end to end, all flat enough for a wagon.
  • Sales are in driveways and front yards. A few sit on sloped lots.
  • Need something brought to the curb? Ask the seller. People are happy to help.

If you are selling

The day before

  • Price things in round numbers. A table of unpriced stuff slows everyone down.
  • Put the good stuff at the curb end. People decide from the sidewalk.
  • Get change: a stack of ones and fives, plus a few tens.
  • Set out a folding table if you have one. Things on the ground do not sell.

On the day

  • Put a sign at your own curb so drivers can spot you.
  • Keep a "free" box. It moves things you were going to haul away anyway.
  • Keep pets inside and valuables out of reach.
  • Expect the first rush right at open and a second one around lunch.

When it is over

  • Take your signs down. All of them.
  • Mark down hard in the last hour rather than repacking.
  • Anything left over is a donation run, not a basement problem.

Selling too? Add your house.
